My Very Own Wanderlist

I was inspired by this post by Sofia's Journal, who was inspired by Sending Postcards own wanderlist. The idea of this is "to inspire wanderlust". And whilst that may sound incredibly cheesy, "wanderlust" is one of my favourite words and concepts.

Here we go, things I want to do in my life. If I get even a third of these completed, I'd die happy.

Take pictures from the top of the Empire State building.
Travel around New Zealand and go to Milford Sound.

Go to Scotland.
See elephants swimming.

Visit Paris in the autumn.
Take a picture next to a sign saying County Clare in Ireland.

Climb the Eiffel Tower.
Go shopping in New York at Christmas.

Go to Boston.
See the palace of Versailles.

Go on a cruise.
See the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco.

Have tea at the Ritz.
Play with lion cubs or see snow-leopard cubs in person.

Visit Italy, again.
Visit Longleat Safari Park.

See a tiger in the wild.
Visit the Rocky Mountains, Yosemite National Park, or the Grand Canyon in America.

See the Parthenon.
See Chateau de Pierrefonds.

Writing this has made me all itchy to go travelling. I must check my savings.. haha. Have you done one of these? Or do you have a similar thing? Tell me about it!
xx

Fashion Guru's, flyyy...

I bought this top at the weekend and I am incredibly indecisive about whether I want to keep it! So I'm turning to you lovely folk, as I think you'll be able to help me..
It's
this pretty thing, from Dorothy Perkins, and it also comes in black, which I think I might like more now I've seen it.. oops!
Anyway, I tried it on in the shop, without anything underneath it (it's very see-through, and if I was skinnier, I would wear it like that) and I liked it, it was slouchy and floaty and pretty. I was excited to buy it. Get it home, try it on with a little vest/cami underneath.. and I dunno. I still LIKE it, but in the shop I really loved it. What happened?

What do you think..? I need
moral fashion guidance!
I also
bought that coat I had my eye on, and a little black dress...
But the last two were bought online, and it was 20% off at the time.. so I got both the coat and the dress for £80 as opposed to £100? Haha. I know, that's no help.

Friday Favourites! (9th October)

I like the idea of a weekly favourite post! So I'm going to do one whenever I have time. I am not promising every week though! sometimes, I like to go out on a Friday night.. haha.

Venomous Villains & Jin Soon Nail Trend 2010!
(L-R: Rain of Flowers, Formidable, Bad Fairy)
- Bad Fairy looks amazing over a mustardy yellow and over black. Over red it gives it a pinky tinge. I want to try it over a green but I'm tired right now.
- Formidable is intense, I adore it, it looks even better over a purple or a yellow.
-
Rain of Flowers is gorgeous in bright lights, and the rest of the time has a little, distinct shimmer.
-
Mean & Green, the one I didn't GET, but thought I would like the most.. is weird! It's an odd mixture of green and purple and yellow. It looked weird on the nail. Shame, but I picked up Rain of Flowers from the Nail Trend Collection instead! Silver linings.
- These are PACKED full of glitter. Look. Glitter is gorgeous.
I have work in the morning but I'll do a full review tomorrow, with sunlight and everything!

Winter Coats
I tried on some coats today in Dorothy Perkins and I reaaaally want either a parka or a big duffle coat. I am unsure, though. I have to decide. I really loved the grey-duffle, but it's £65. I do want a new coat, though. Oh, dilemmas..

Dramatic Makeup
More dramatic makeup. I felt like I got into a super deep rut with my makeup and needed a change. So I'm putting down my beloved Naked palette and reaching for my Illamasqua and MAC a bit more. This was today. It looks gold & brownish in this picture, but it was deep purple in real-life and black in the crease. Damn camera.

GOSH Fix Base Coat & Holographic Joy
I wore GOSH Holographic with the Fix Base Coat, supposedly akin to NFU-Oh's Aqua Base, and it's amazing! A polish that would normally have chips in by the end of the first day lasted for three, with only a little chipping around the edges! It also made it much smoother and easier to apply. Definite fan of that one. Oh, and my nails are short again, I was getting irritated!

Green Giraffes & Great Friends
I had the most amazing dessert at Giraffe today. Actually my whole meal was pretty good, but the dessert was amazing. Belgian waffle, roasted banana, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice-cream. They messed up our starter, but they gave us a little giraffe to make up for it. Mine is the green one. I had a lovely catch-up with a friend from work too, and ended up talking for ages in the restaurant cause we barely see each other at work anymore, it's got so stressful, haha.

How has your week been? I've been rushing to get a painting finished all week so I could really enjoy myself today! I have to be up early tomorrow, but I'm only working until 1.30PM and I get Sunday off! Winner. Sunday lie-in, anyone?

Fresh! (And I'm not talking about the weather.)

One of the definite perks of being a fresher at university.. is the free things at your freshers fair! We didn't get amazing things (my friend down in Maidstone said her uni got Urban Outfitters bags and shoes!) but they were alright! We got some junk, some free pens & paints (art uni), some vouchers and various bits & bobs, and then I look in the bag and there is this..
I'm not going to lie, when I first saw it, I was like eugh, I hate that brand, having used it when I was younger. And then my conditioner ran out. I was in the bathroom already and I couldn't be bothered hunting for anything else, so I thought I'd just give it a go.
And I'm surprisingly pleased with the result really! It says it's a Damage Rescue one, so maybe this is why, but like the Aussie one I usually use, it doesn't make my hair all dry and crunchy, and actually makes it pretty shiny and smooth. If you want me to do a review on it, just ask! So, thumbs up right there for good freshers bags, UCA!
Oh, I also got a cheeky nail-varnish, too. Not realllly my colour, but it's nice enough. It's a bit too.. Barbie-pink in person.
I love a bit of free-stuff, don't you?

Friday Favourites!

I've seen these a lot but never really bothered to do one myself, so I thought I'd et you know what I've been into this month.

Films

I got back into my old, Wes Anderson habit, and I've been watching a bunch of his old movies. And a couple of chick-flicks thrown in for good measure. As you'll see below, I recently read The Devil Wears Prada book, and it made me really want to watch the film again! I adore Anne Hathaway in whatever capacity!

Books

I've been trying to read a lot recently. This is an older picture, so these weren't all read this month, but I finished The Devil Wears Prada, Sybil, Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Her Shoes this month! Pretty great going, for someone that struggles to sit down and concentrate these days! I definitely recommend both In Her Shoes & The Devil Wears Prada, because though they're probably a bit on the trashy side, they're genuinely good reads. If you want any in-depth reviews of these books, let me know. (:

Perfume

I got this for my birthday, and it's recently been my favourite. On first smell, it's very summery and light, but I think it kind of carries over into autumn, and I really like that.

Nail Varnish
I've been a big fan of Barry M polishes, recently, and hese are the only ones I've been liking on my nails: I'm lacking serious nail inspiration! The red is perfect for crisp autumn days, and the purples brighten up all the rain in my life!

New Necklaces
I bought both these pieces on a whim the other night, the one on the left is from ASOS and the one on the right from This Charming Girl which is an awesome website with some lovely jewellery, I definitely recoomend. Unfortunately, the ASOS pendant chain has tarnished after only a couple of days wear, so I think i'm going to put it on a rope or something, cause I really like the charm. And the TCG necklace is a litttttle on the shorter side, so I'm hunting for a more appropriate chain. But I loveee the little Artemis-esque cameo. I love a bit of mythology.

Hilhairious. (This is the best, worst pun I could think of!)

Hello everyone!
Sorry if my posts seem a bit sporadic at the moment, I just started uni this week and it's been a bit of a mad rush during the day and then collapsing when I come home.. and it's only Tuesday! haha. I think my blog may be a bit empty over the coming weeks, whilst I'm getting myself settled in, but please don't be put off! I will be back! I just need to get everything prioritised and then I'll be fine!
In other news, I am desperately missing my long hair! I was going through and deleting old photo-booth pictures (i hadn't deleted any siance I got my computer, two and a half years ago!) and WOW I forgot how long my hair was, not that long ago. I was convinced by my hair-dresser that I wanted it shorter, but now I want it really long again. Look at that first one! Damn. I want to be able to put it in a really long plait.
So I think I'm going to let it grow out again. My hair grows like a weed so it shouldn't be too hard!
For reference, this is where it's up too at the moment. (I know this is silly picture, but my eyes wouldn't focus because I was sleepy and I looked crazy if I looked at the lens!)

How are you all my lovelies?! I can't believe I'm getting on for 270 followers! It's insane. Thank-you, allllll of you! (:
x

And you thought you might get rid of me...

Well if you follow me on Twitter, you'll know I have had my computer back for a few days now, and damn, it makes everything so much easier! I gave up altogether on trying to read blogs and such on my phone, and answering comments on my parents computer was a pain, so give me a little while and i'll try and catch up!
However, I've found I've got a bad adaptor, so this return could just be a temporary thing! Embarrassing thing happened whilst I was at the repair shop, though. I was editing pictures for my blog when it died, so I had a bunch of photos of my face up! Haha, bit of an awkward moment right there, hopefulllly he doesn't not think I'm an arrogant bitch!
Anyway, normal posting shall return soon, just thought I'd post about what I've been doing recently! Today it was so lovely out and I was going to go to the gym, but it seemed like such a waste when it was so sunny. So me and my mum decided to go for a walk to the park/airfield near my house and pick some blackberries. We used to do this every summer when I was little, so it was a pretty lovely thing to do. And I took a few pictures, of course.

And just throwing in some eyeshadow I did with the Naked palette! This is one of the ones that was up on the screen when I was at the repair place, oops.

Anyway, I'm going to try and rush and get some posts scheduled, just in case! How are you guys?

Particularly chuffed. Oh, my wit.

Still in the midst of my blogging drought, I'm afraid! Computer is still being fixed, but I know whats wrong with it, and it's costing me shocking £495 to fix it! It's literally tear-inducing. Unfortunately, I've kinda learned this is what you get with Mac's, and as much I as I adore them and their products, they're ridiculously sensitive machines, and it costs a bomb to fix them. People have told me I'm crazy to pay that much for it to be fixed.. But when you think that the cheapest MacBook you can buy (not comparable to mine) is around £800, it's more understandale. Then pair that with the fact it has two years worth of work on it.. that I can't really replace! So kids, look after them, they do go wrong!

Anyway! I'm still making do with my parents computer, but as I can't get access to my camera software and things like that, it makes posting fairly awful! However, I did manage this sneaky snap with my iPhone, which has a blessedly good camera!
My older brother came home from a six-week journey across the states which I am ridiculously jealous of, but he brought my back a little present..

Isn't it lovely?! It's like a nicer version of You Don't Know Jacques by OPI, a lighter, creamier, better formula version.. I am fully in love with this colour. If YDKJ looks like wet clay, this looks like Galaxy chocolate. I adore it and I am so grateful for my brother for getting it for me! I also got a little sample of some lovely mascara and a little bit of eye-makeup remover! Gotta love the brother. (:
I hope everyone did really well in their GCSE's and A-Level's by the way! My younger brother did excellent in his GCSE's and is going to do some ridiculous A-Level's now! So glad I'm not doing that stuff! Haha.
Hope you're all well and normal blogging will commence shortly..? Sigh! Who knows?

In's & Out's

Ugh SO I don't know if I'll be able to blog for a bit. It's all a bit up in the air at the moment. Basically, on Sunday night I came home, tried to turn my MacBook on, and it just.. wouldn't turn on. So I took it to a repair place in Guildford, and I'm waiting to hear back from them. They said they would call me today, and they didn't, so if they haven't called me by lunchtime tomorrow, I'm going to give them a ring. It makes me very sad.
Because I have allllll my pictures and about five written posts that I may potentially have to write again on my Mac... I am not so much in the mood for blogging! Haha. I came home tonight and thought I would do a little in & out post.

In
Catching up with good friends:
I've been feeling a bit in and out of recently, but tonight I met up with three of my favourite girls from my foundation course, who I got quite close to this past year, and we haven't all met up in a group since my birthday at the beginning of June. So we went to a Chinese buffet place in Camberley and it was pretty lovely. Good, cheap, greasy Chinese food and lots of gossip and laughs. I like that there's never an awkward moment with them. (:

Primarni:
I got through phases with Primark. Sometimes I hate it but I've been finding a lot of good things in there. I've posted about my I'm going to go in there later in the week with my mummy and pick up some of their jumpers and cardigans and a few cheap tops and dresses and that, ready for uni! I loveee their 'boyfriend' jumpers for a multitude of reasons, they're perfect for slouching around the house or chucking on over a top to go to the pub with leggings.

And speaking of Uni..
I am sooo ready to just start, y'know! I'm so so so READY for it. I did three years at sixth form, then a foundation, so I'm only just starting my BA hons in Fine Art this year, at the ripe old age of 20. I'm glad, though, it means I'm not really nervous or anything about it, or worried about making friends, and just really excited to get making work and be with other like-minded people.

Tumblr
I've becoming obsessed with Tumblr recently. Been trawling sites like Boom & Found & finding some interesting new paintings and artwork and that. This is mine: http://sometimearoundmidnight.tumblr.com, so you should link me yours as well!

Out
Broken Mac!
Like I said, not having my MacBook is sucking so bad. So so so bad. I have so much important stuff on that computer, and I'm worried I'll never be able to get it back! ): I'm using my parents computer at the moment and it has the noisiest computer I've ever had the displeasure of using! Plus it means using Windows, which is horrrrrid.

Student finance & enroling in university.
I hate this stuff, with a passion! It's just frustrating and long winded and complicated. I'm applying for DSA on top and it's another complication I don't know if I can be bothered with,, and jumping through all the hoops necessary and stuff. And then I officially enrol on my course on the 23rd of August, when online enrolment begins and I've been sent about 10 letters telling me about it, but not the information I need to actually to enrol! Will be so glad when I'm actually a student and there and getting on with it.

Friends
I'm looking forward to university and everything, but one of my really good friends is moving to another branch of my university in Maidstone, which is about two hours away from me, and I'm really going to miss her. ): She moves on like the 8th or something, and it's going to suck when she's not just around the corner all the time. I can see myself using a lot of petrol going down to visit her!

Summer
Just a bit fed-up of it now. Been looking at Winter collections online, and the weather has been pants, and I just want to be in full-on Autumn, now! I'm fed up of summer dresses, miserable weather-reports and flip-flops. I bought a hat the other day (as modelled by me on Twitter) and I want to wear it, and go shopping for a new Winter coat, and wear my boots comfortable and dig out my favourite scarves and gloves. I kind of wanted this summer to be better than it was, and then a lot of things have happened meaning it's fallen a bit flat, and I want it just to be over, and want a fresh start.

You can be underwhelmed and overwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed..?

Wooooooow. I have reached a spectacular 200 followers. 202, to be precise. I'm so in shock. I started blogging because I like pretty pictures of makeup and jewellery and clothes and talking about this stuff. Didn't think it would amount to 202 people following me!
So this is just to say a massssssive thankyou! I appreciate it all, completely. I read all your comments and it's great to see other people talking about stuff I'm obsessed with.

I don't really have much to say, honestly. This was just on my mind and I wanted to tell you how much I love you guys. I want to try and do a giveaway or something but I'm not really sure. I don't want to gain followers just for doing something like that, because I've seen it happen so much. I'll have a think about it and let you know, cause I definitely want to try and thank you lot in someway!

It's late now, but I am going to Westfields tomorrow! That's a big ass shopping centre in London. I want to find some new ~going out~ outfits and some nice flat sandals to wear, I think. I'm going to have a good peruse, anyway! And I'm going to spend as long as possible in Inglot, I want to pick up some of their nail polishes, as I got two last time and I love them. I suppose I should go to bed, really, as I am supposed to be driving me and all my friends there!

Before I go, I just want to take a minute right here to link some blogs that I have been loviiiing recently! As I thought is only fitting.

My Future Lies Beneath My Hat
http://myfutureliesbeneathmyhat.blogspot.com/
I love Rach, completely, haha. I met her on my Foundation course that I have just finished and she's generally fantastic. We have similar senses of humour and she's such a laugh. She has a incredibly fashion sense that I can't even begin to understand but I love it, and she's starting at LCF in September! Her blog is relatively new, but when she posted about a sausage-dog-shaped-purse.. well, I'd keep an eye on it.

heartshapedbruise.
http://heart-shaped-bruise.blogspot.com/
I love her blog! She always posts about great finds and things that I really enjoy reading, as I love seeing what other people dig up on the highstreet. Plus, she's a lovely girl who always leaves lovely comments!

The Girl With The Arab Strap
http://girlwiththearabstrap.blogspot.com/
Emma is one, gorgeous, and two, incredibly stylish. Oh, and three, with great music taste. I love that she puts all her music with her posts. And I am very jealous of her recent Smiths shirt purchase! I might have to hunt one of these down, myself.

Lyd's Blonde thoughts
http://misslmscott.blogspot.com/
I've had Lydia on Twitter for ages and she is always fantastic at helping me pick my nail-varnish colour, haha. I don't know what I would do without her! Haha. Her nail posts make me incredibly envious and I wish I had her nails, they're wonderful, and she's such a sweetheart.

Tastes Like Glitter
http://www.tasteslikeglitter.com/
Bicky is a breath of fresh air in the beauty community. I feel like people can be falsely nice and never say what they mean and always try and please companies that send them products and I know that Bicky would never do that! Haha. She says it like it is, has some great eyeshadow colour combinations and I love following her on Twitter, too.

I'll do some of these another time, but I reaaaaaally must go to bed now! I need to be bright eyed and bushy tailed for shopping times, man!
Love! xx

Ramble On..

Just a little warning, this is a bit of an all-over post.
First order of business: off into town I went yesterday afternoon for a spot of lunch and a film with my good friend Ammi and had a loveeerly time. We saw Inception which is just awesome, I definitely recommend it! I don't want to go into too much detail, but I love films that you have to think about like that, with good twists and that. Very much worth a watch.
Anyway, I wanted to make a bit of an effort with my makeup, as I'm trying to get out of my ~makeup~ rut (and it's a good thing I'm trying this, as I put on a full face yesterday and met unexpected males at the pub, haha), so I did a look I saw ages ago, a bluey-purple look. The camera (for some reason) really washed out all the colours, so I tried to brighten it on photoshop and ended up just looking a bit glowy, forgive this.

Another sort of makeup/beauty/cosmetic related point is that I am obsesssssed with this fragrance!
I got this for my birthday and I've used it an awful lot recently, it's Marc Jacob's Apple: in a massssssive bottle. About 300ml. I prefer this over Pomegrante and Biscotti (the other two in the Patisserie range) by a long shot. It's a beautiful summery scent, that I really love to splash liberally all over, as it's not very strong, but very fresh feeling when you spray it on.
And finally, the other day we were driving down one of the back roads and saw these two little deer that were stuck and scared. We stopped near them to make sure they didn't get hit by a car but they were soo cute. I want one. ):

How is everyone's summer going..? Hope you're having a nice time. I am feeling much better this week. (:

Little Ramble.. (:

Determined to get myself out of my rut, guys! I am feeling a lot better this evening. I think I've seen my two good friends every day this week, which makes me feel heaps better. I even went to see Toy Story 3 tonight!

I reallllly loved it! I didn't cry or anything but definitely found it funny and excellent and genuinely didn't like the creepy monkey or the baby, haha. I highly recommend you all go see it! We saw it in 3D but it's not really necessary, imho. I loved the way it wrapped everything up and felt like a little piece of my childhood ended - the first one came out when I was *five*! (We googled it.)

Anyway, a comment left by the lovely
heart-shaped-bruise got me thinking the other day.. I was wondering what kind of posts your guys prefer to see from me?

Some posts I have coming up:
- Body Shop Body Butter/Scrub Review
- Body Shop Shower Gel Review
- Summer Essentials
- Summer Essentials: Makeup
- Another makeup tutorial video
- What's In My Bag video
- Some NOTD photos
- Makeup/Nail Varnish storage post

Which kind of thing would like to see more of..? I'm coming up to 200 follower (eek!) so I want to please you guys! (:

First Experiences With Illamasqua's Nail Polishes.. & Something Shiny.

I was in London recently and my mum promised me a treat, so naturally I stopped by the Illamasqua counter, and picked up these two;

Force and Elope, both are £13

They look a little light in the bottles here, but I have individual swatches.
This is Elope;

I saw this and was drawn to it like a fly (psst, see my previous post
about greens.. haha) and the girl swatched it for me and it looked awesome, so I said yes. Unfortunately, on me, it came off sort of weird. With like a rubbery finish? You can sort of see it in the picture. I hope that it was just something I did when I applied it, so I applied it about a week later and I didn't have any of the same problems, which pleases me because it's a reallyyy beautiful colour. I used a top-coat and everything but just dunno! I also worried it was very similar to a cheapo Collection 2000 colour, so I swatched them both side by side on my thumb so you can see;

On the left is Ninja by Collection 2000 (£1.79) and on the right is Elope by Illamasqua.

They look identical in the bottles, but to a green-freak like me, they're different enough to warrant having both, because it's a deeper green. Ninja suddenly looks far too pastel-y when next to it.
The next one is Force, from Illamasqua's latest Body Electrics collection;

This is just immense. It's an absolutely gorgeous colour. A very true, pretty, light royal blue. I highly highly highly recommend this one, and I don't have anything like it in my collection, and it goes on in one coat, pretty much.
The formula's are absolutely great, especially for Force, I just wish I didn't have that one-time weird plasticy finish on Elope. Elope goes on excellently, even if it did take a fewww coats, but it's great. I love these, but I wish the price wasn't quite so steep, but you do pay for an excellent product and eternally classy packaging.

Price: 3/5
Packaging: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Formula: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

Would I buy this product again?
Absolutely definitely. There's a range of colours I have my beady little eyes on.

Now onto the something shiny.. I definitely bought one of these babies a few weeks ago..

Before you start telling me about all the things that could potentially maybe go wrong with it.. just don't. Don't be so pathetic, I've had enough of that and it's just pisses me off.

Just thought I'd share because I can't resist something shinyy!

Sincerest Apologies!

Hey guys, I am so sorry I haven't posted recently! I have been trying to do overtime at work so I can save up some pennies, and this involved me starting at 7.30 three times last week and only having one day off all week! To someone that normally works on average eight hours a week, it's been a bit of a shock. And I've generally just feeling a bit low and depressed all this week so I haven't really felt like blogging a great deal, if I'm honest!
Gonna take a minute here to be completely open with you guys. I mentioned in a previous post that I suffer from seasonal-depression, when really I just suffer from depression. I say 'just', it's a very consuming illness. And yes, it is an illness, and a disability. With me, it manifests itself as an intense sad feeling, where I can't get out of bed in the morning, I find it very hard to sleep during the night and find myself sleepy and lethargic all day and nap quite often. I cry a lot and don't want to leave the house. So as you can see, it's not really conducive to blogging. If
If you're interested in awareness,
here's a link to the Depression Alliance with more information.

Anyway, moving on from that and to something more suitable for this blog, I thought I'd show you something that I've enjoyed doing recently. I was watching an episode of the Graham Norton Show and Kelly Rowland was on it - and she had one of what I am calling ring-finger manicures. She had a bright yellow colour, just on her ring-fingers and I wanted to try out something similar.

On my nails I have China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise (A full picture and review of which
you can find here) and China Glaze's Frostbite on my ring-finger, both of which cost £5.99 from Sally's.

I realllllly like this idea. I was worried it would look a bit childish, but I think as long as you use colours that work well together, like this, it looks really good. Turned Up Turquoise is actually a neon, and as such it is matte, but with a top-coat it works well next to Frostbite, which is a deep, frosty blue. Have you done this? Show me pictures! (:

Happy Birthday to me!

Well.. not anymore.. it's now Tuesday, but we'll ignore that fact (and the fact that I should be in bed but I can't sleep!). Just wanted to say thank-you for all the birthday wishes I got.. and show you the amazing birthday cake my mum made me! It is absolutely unreal...haha.

The outside.. 20 candles, count 'em! You may notice it is quite a tall cake..

And this would be why. Layers of rainbow cake.

My mum makes some pretty awesome cakes and when she asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I jokingly said I wanted a rainbow cake. Then yesterday we spent a good few hours in the kitchen making the layers and perfecting the food colouring.. I love it so much and almost didn't want to eat it. Cutting into it was the best thing ever.
I saw this idea forever ago on
i am baker's blog where she made a green cake, and didn't think it was possible because it's a right pain in the bum to find white cake mix here, but me & my mum made a batch of pale cake mix, and managed to successfully add colours. We also found this recipe really useful, too.

A slice.. (: You will not need second-helpings. Trust me, haha.

For
two layers of cake you'll need:
4oz of butter/marg
4oz of flour
4oz white caster sugar
2 large eggs
As much food colouring as you like!
2 small pans (I recommend small, thin pans, mine were probably like 20cm across)

Basically you just mix the cake like you normally would, then add the food colouring, making sure it's super vibrant, as it fades a tad when cooking, then cook the cake like you normally would. The outsides, where they cook, will go a strange colour - a sort of dull, greenish version of the colour you made.. but do not despair. Layer the cakes as you want, and I used some Betty Crocker icing inbetween each layer, and then smoothed around the top & bottom (I say *I*, my mum did this bit because I can't ice cakes for shit!). And then have the time of your life cutting into it. I am going to bedoing this for all my friends now, haha.
If you opposed to such things as E numbers, i am baker also does one
coloured by natural substances like strawberries, blueberries and kiwis.. which I really want to try.
And I would highly recommend trying to find an
American food shop (I'm visiting this one later this week haha) to get white cake mix because that is a, cheating, and b, a hell of a lot easier, haha.

That concludes my food-themed-blog post, haha. Hope you had a good day, too. (:

A World of Birds..

I kind of haven't done anything this week.. but I've been busy! Been doing lots of little bits, like popping to the shops with friends and just hanging out with people and trying to fit in going to the gym as much as possible and enjoying the start of my summer! So I thought I would show you a little bit of what i've been up to & share some pictures. (: I went to Birdworld. It's basically just a place near my university that has a lot of exotic birds you can have a look at. And for some reason, I have a thing for birds.. I love them, haha. Except Albatrosses. They freak me out. Anyway, you can buy stuff to feed them and some of them are super friendly, I made friends with a parrot who whenever I made a clicking noise, copied me and I pretty much loved it.

Pirate parrots! I love them and I really want to own one!

I kind of love toucans and so do my friends - their beaks look like their stuck on or something, it's great.

A peacock I made friends with. This was in a bit you could wander about with lots of chickens and turkeys and the peacock liked me, but the turkey tried to attack my friends..I laughed from a safe distance.

A very noisy bird that let us stroke it's head. (:

And me! We went on Monday which was the hottest day of the year so far and oh-my-Gosh I was dying haha. But this picture is because there is the exact same one of me when I'm little in front of that picture, haha.

What are you up to now we're officially into June (by the time I post this anyway)!
