MAC Survey!

I am so sorry I've been so bad with posting! I'd like to say that I've been busy, but the truth is, my days have been so unbusy, that I've become ridiculously lazy and lethargic. I'm trying to break this slump though, and I've been cooking an awful lot, particularly baking.

That said - I have a confession to make, I'm afraid. Please don't judge me but.. I've been hauling several times this month. Hauling. Big hauls. Two shopping trips to London and numerous visits to my local department stores are bad for my wallet. I was going to update you on everything in one big post, but I think I'll organise it either by brands/different outings/different products.

Anyway, expect lots of pictures soon! Heres a MAC survey I came across. (:

How long have you been using Mac?

Ooh, god knows. Probably since about 2006? Started buying a lot about 2007. Remebering loving Lure in June 06, and getting stuff for my birthday! Heh.

What was your first Mac product?

Trax Eyeshadow! I thought I was so cool.

What's your all time favourite Mac product?

Oh, man. Probably the eyeshadows or the lippies.

What's your least favourite Mac product?

Mascaras/Mineralize Eyeshadows! Sorry!

Do you own a Pro Card?

Nope - one day!

Your Mac foundation shade:

NW 15/20/25, depending on the foundation, and time of year.

Your favourite Mac-Foundation:

Mineralize Satinfinish SPF15

Eyeshadow:

Love these! I have like five palettes full, and then lots of other eyeshadows and things lying about. I could never pick just one, haha.

Lipstick:

Oh man...I love these! Hmm..my favourites are probably something like Hug Me or Russian Red. Today I wore Plumful and I forgot how much I love love love it.

Lipgloss:

I only have one, I'm not a huge fan, I think there are some much better ones, honestly! I have two orange ones, the Nice to be Nice from Hello Kitty was alright, I suppose. I like the colour of the Dazzleglasses, if not the quality.

Liner:

I loveeee Blacktrack. Smoulder Eye Kohl's okay, it just smudges like crazy.

Brush:

I think their brushes are amazing, they're the best ones I use. I have quite a few, now.

Nail Lacquer:

It seems a tad overpriced, tbh, cause the quality is never amazing when you swatch.

Pro Product:

Probably glitters or the pro-pans, are my favourites. I adore the 3D Silver Glitter

I have never tried, have other favourite bronzers.

Powder Blush:

I only have two! They're alright, but I prefer Nars blushes.

Have one, but they wayyyy too sticky, blah. Prefer glossy.

See Thru Lip Color:

n/a

I LOVE the colour and the glitter, but I despise the formula. Less sticky, please!

n/a, seemed weirdly creamy/watery.

n/a

n/a

Solar Bits:

n/a, cute, but seem crazy glittery.

n/a, but they seem run-of-the-mill.

Blech! So glad they're phasing these out. Drying, bad formula, boring etcetc.

Paint:

n/a

Paint Pots:

Loveee! The three from the McQueen collectio - and they're amazing. Love the colours.

Eye Shadow:

I love the huge range of colours, finishes, everything. People say there are duds, but I think you have to work around it.

Pigment:

I love these too! Wish they were tad small, but they're great. I have a few, really got into them, recently.

Glitter:

Adore them! (:

Eye Kohl:

Alright, I suppose. They smudge like mad, though.

Chromaline:

I have a red one, it's awesome.

Fluidline:

Absolutely love my Blacktrack! Wear it every day, pretty much.

Liquid Last Liner:

I had/have a blue one (I'm not sure where it is! I may have thrown it away). Nice, but I wish they were easier to get off! I hatehatehate oilbased removers, and I don't want to scrub at my eyes.

n/a, but they look awesome.

ProLash Mascara,Zoom Lash Mascara,Plush Lash Mascara, Dazzle Lash Mascara:

I have Zoom Lash, the girl talked me into getting it, and I hate it.

What has been your favourite Mac collection to date?

Ohh, wow. I loveddd the Neo-Sci-Fi pacacking! Uhmn. C-Shock was awesome. I wanted everything from that collection. Cult of Cherry was great, as was Star Flash and Alexander McQueen for MAC..

Which Mac collection, in your opinion, do you think was disappointing, if any?

A lot, to be quite honest. Hello Kitty, Style Warrior & Dame Edna (AWFUL packaging!), anything with Mineralize Eyeshadows (Electroflash, etc), Fafi, Metal-X.. I'm a pain to please, sorry!

What products do you think Mac are missing?

Good mascaras and better lipglosses.

Hello!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog, "Let's Go To Paris, Tonight!" I do a few videos on my youtube account, but I have lots of pictures, and videos are always hard to find the time to do, for me, so I thought a blog would be a good idea!

To tell you a little bit about me, I'm nineteen-years-old, from Hampshire, I'm a student, I just finished sixth-form college, off to do a foundation degree in art & design in the autumn. I love watching films and going out with my friends drinking & dancing - in equal measures. I adore bright colours, and not just on makeup.

So to get us started, here's a little survey type thing.

1. On average, for application of your typical day-to-day work/college makeup, how long do you spend? How long do you spend on going out/special occasion makeup?

Well, for college, or work, from in bed to dressed and out the door, it normally takes me about forty minutes. So I'd say, roughly, around twenty minutes to do my face for work or college. I generally don't wear a whole lot of makeup, just throw some foundation on and some eyeliner and mascara, and some lipbalm. If I'm going out.. well, that varies too. If, say, I'm going out to dinner with my parents or something, I'll do a plain eyeshadow, usually, and then foundation. If I'm going out with my friends for the night, I'll take a bit longer.

2. What's your favourite makeup look?

Ooh, that's a hard one. I love a gold-brown smoky eye, personally! With a pale pink/peach or nude lip. That's quick become one of my favourites recently.

3. If you were stranded on a desert island, what beauty products would you want with you?

Probably suncream! Haha, that, a good shampoo and conditioner, lipbalm and moisturiser. If it's just me, I wouldn't care too much about makeup.

4. What "must-haves" do you always carry in your handbag?

I tend to switch my bag's around a bit, and products get mixed up or lost, but I do like to have some kind of hand moisturiser with me, one of my favourites are Body Shop's body butters, particularly in strawberry. Carmex! Carmex works wonders and I try and keep one around as much as possible. The lipstick/lipgloss I'm wearing that day often lurks at the bottom of my bag, along with a blot powder. I don't know if it counts as a beauty product, but I try and keep some hand-sanitiser hanging around in there, too.

5. High-Street or High-End makeup? What're your favourite brands?

Eep, I have to say.. high-end! I don't buy too much high high end though, like Chanel, etc. I tend to stick with things like MAC, Nars, Benefit, Estee Lauder - more middle of the road than high or low. I think MAC is probably my favourite brand, even though I've become a little disheartened with some of their collections recently. And I'm not a total high-end snob, despite what people think. I think GOSH are an excellent high-street brand. I think Rimmel are pretty good, too, and I love Barry M's nail-paints.

6. How do you look after your skin?

Unfortunately, I was not blessed with good skin. I had acne when I was younger, and still get breakouts. I get a bit obsessive about taking off all my makeup, using a good cleanser/toner/moisturiser, a gentle exfoliator now and then. And the best thing for blemishes? Definitely Sudocrem, as weird as that sounds.

7. What is your signature scent?

Oh, I adore perfume. My signature scent is definitely Paul Smith Floral. Smells absolutely perfect, all times of year. I heard rumours it was being discontinued - if that's true, I'll be so sad.

8. Do you have a beauty vice?

Perfume and eyeshadows! Unfortunately, both are these are expensive habits.

9. What is your beauty pet-peeve?

Oh, god, where do I start? Haha. Unblended eyeshadow is one of my hatreds. Bad eyeliner (ie, like stars and patterns drawn near the eyeliner, drives me nuts unless it's done well). Foundation that doesn't match the skintone is another one. Streaky fake-tan! 'Blanked out' or overly nude lips make me cringe, too. Let's just say, the badmakeup community on Livejournal is one of my favourites!

10. Who is your beauty icon?

I don't think I really have a beauty icon, if I'm honest. I do think Rihanna's makeup always looks awesome. I adore Sarah Chapman's makeup style - otherwise known as Pixiewoo.

11. Finally, do you have a beauty philosophy?

Depends what you consider a "philosophy", I suppose. I mostly live by the rule that I'll wear it if I like the way it looks, rule. For example, I'll wear bright lipstick with bright eyeshadow, I'll wear tons of glitter, because I love glitter. I don't think that just because you're a certain age or skintone, or whatever, you should be stuck in one kind of style.

There you go! Look forward to more posts from me. (:

FASHION NEWS!

  • Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo is no longer the designer at Halston. She has been replaced by Marios Schwab who says he is excited to head Halston and will still be running his namesake line.
  • Models like Anja Rubik, Sessilee Lopez, and Emina Cunmulaj were in Vienna to take part in the 2009 Life Ball AIDS Charity Spectacular. The venue was surrounded by 2.5 million liters of water for the marine themed party.... i'm sorry, but that sounds really wasteful. oh well.
  • Go on youtube and search for Anna Wintour on 60 minutes! I didn't get to watch the original viewing but I will watch it now--I've heard it is an eye-opening segment.
  • Lara Stone, the sex bomb of fashion, is searching for a boyfriend--that was one of the tidbits of information that came out of the sensational Chanel Paris-Venice Cruise 2010 collection that was shown recently.

i hope you all enjoyed the entry. ta ta.

learn more about moi

i've been tagged by the amazing CC at http://www.couturecarrie.blogspot.com/
if you ever wanted to know more about me, here is a survey that answers some questions.

What are your current obsessions?
Big bags, wayfarer like sunglasses, summer, frayed/distressed jean shorts, high heels, ankle boots.

What is your weirdest obsession?
washing my hands as much as possible, and my breath and body odor. i'm constantly paranoid that i don't smell good and since i sweat a lot (i guess it's just in my genes) i'm always worried about sweat stains on my clothes and such.

What are you wearing today?
a purple/fuschia knitted hat with a brim, a dark grey cowlneck knit top, an olive green blazer, dark wash skinny jeans and pink converse with gold heart stud earrings.

Why is today special?
because you can get a small iced coffee from dunkin donuts for 50 cents! yum. i just finished one and i have a caffeine rush.

What would you like to learn to do?
i played the cello in high school but had to stop after i graduated because buying a cello would cost a lot of money, as would continuing my lessons. i want to continue to learn to play the cello so i can be a master cellist. i'd also like to learn to swim decently. i can only propel myself underwater, but not overwater. i'd also like to learn to sew. there is so much that i'd love to learn!

What's for dinner today?
i don't know...whatever my mom makes♥!

What's the last thing you bought?
these beautiful gladiators from gojane.com.

What are you listening to right now?
the TV and my two crazy little sisters babble nonsensically.

What is your most challenging goal right now?
getting through this semester, managing this blog and getting some attention through it (i want more people to know about what interests me in fashion and find out if it interests them too), and being the best person i can be and strengthening my spirtuality and faith in God.

What do you think about the person who tagged you?
Carrie of http://www.couturecarrie.blogspot.com/ is such an amazing person. she has a really bright personality and thinks up the best titles for her blog entries. she is one of the nicest bloggers i've had the pleasure of erm...typing to on the world wide web!

If you could have a house, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?
i would love to live somewhere where it is warm all of the time...but i think i would choose a home in Paris. i love this interior that belongs to cordelia de castellane.

picture from pointclickhome.com

What would you like to get rid of?
my brother...
hahaha, i don't really mean it, but sometimes he's so horrible that i feel like he would dissappear!

What would you like to acquire?
hmm...i don't know...maybe a treasure chest of amazing jewelry (not costume! i can get that on my own)

If you could go anywhere in the world for a week, where would you go?
somewhere tropical and beautiful! i'm from the carribbean and wish i could visit. i'd love to go to fiji i think. it sounds like a fun place.

Which language(s) do you want to learn?
i took japanese for four years in high school...and no, i don't know how to speak it. such a shame right?
i'd love to know how to speak all the languages in the world. i think the most practical to know are english (which i already know), spanish and french. so i guess i would learn spanish and french.

Who do you want to meet in person?
ROBERT PATTINSON!♥♥♥♥not only do i think he is amazingly handsome, i also think he is very intelligent and witty and has a great sense of humor. i could be wrong, but the only way to know that is to meet him!

i would also love to meet carine roitfeld, ashley olsen and selita ebanks.

What's your favorite part about the town/city you live in?
i absolutely love downtown chicago. it's amazing! i really should go down there more often. it has a mixture of high designer stores and high street stores, and lots of great museums and also i love millenium park and lake michigan.

What are your favorite pieces of clothing in your own closet?
my blazers, my grey ruched and floral appliqued dress that i wore to my high school senior luncheon and my new shoes that i haven't worn yet (grey python heels and gold gladiators).

What is your dream job?
as a top stylist (celebrity and otherwise), or the editor-in-chief or fashion director of top fashion magazines like Vogue Paris or US Vogue.

If you had $500 now, what (who) would you spend it on?
my mommy. i'd buy her anything she wanted. she deserves so much.

Fashion pet peeve?
when people latch onto trends so quickly. it's annoying...they were surviving before the trends, so why do they latch onto them so quickly? i like to examine trends and see if it can fit into my style before i go crazy and buy a bunch of new stuff. and first of all, i don't even have the money to buy like that all of the time.

Do you admire anyone's style?
i love ashley olsen's style, my mom's style, michelle obama's style, carine roitfeld's style, and all the people that i've put on my best dressed celebs right now list's style.

Whose fashion show(s) would you want tickets to?
i'd love if i could get invited to everyone--but tickets that i would HAVE to have are tickets to marc jacobs, louis vuitton, balmain, marchesa, chanel, yves saint laurent, dries van noten, thakoon, jason wu, diane von furstenburg and christian dior.

all pictures from googleimages unless stated otherwise.

i hope you enjoyed learning more about me! i tag anyone who wants to do this, i'd love to learn more about all of you and my fellow fashion bloggers! :)
