- the fashion flock will be scurrying between the Bryant Park tents and MAC & MILK. 30 designers, including Proenza Schouler, Temperley London, and Threeasfour are putting on runway shows or presentations or premiering films at the 15th Street studios, all at zero cost to them. "To ensure against elevator dramas, no runway shows will take place above the second floor, and, more importantly, they're working with the city to establish no-parking zones to make heading west on 15th Street as stress-free as possible."

-Marc Jacobs is the party guy among the fashion lot. last fashion week he was not able to have his famed fashion week afterparty but this time he will be able to! following his show on September 14, Jacobs and V Magazine will host a party with V magazine's september 2009 covergirl, Lady Gaga. And yes, this party is invitation only.

- red-headed and freckled stunner julia hafstrom is expected to stir up a storm at this upcoming fashion week. "A well-timed jump to IMG's development board last year has led to, in rapid succession: a Meisel editorial in Vogue Italia, the August cover of Dazed & Confused, and a coveted spot in the Prada Fall '09 campaign."

- india is having a moment! "Organic's John Patrick, long a champion of craftsmen in far-flung locales, is collaborating with the Maheshwar-based Women Weave collective on handspun scarves for his Spring collection. London native Saloni Lodha [remember my feature on her?] is debuting her eponymous line of party-girl dresses (Emma Watson and BFF Poppy Delevingne are fans). And husband-and-wife team Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia—owners of the exotic home goods label ANKASA—will present their Mumbai-produced collection of casual-luxe basics with traditional Indian embroidery."

- "If Risto Bimbiloski isn't the first Macedonian designer to show in New York (Abbie Cornish favorite Toni Maticevski beat him to it), he's the only one with stints at Jean Colonna, Thierry Mugler, and Louis Vuitton menswear—with Marc Jacobs as a mentor—on his résumé. Bimbiloski's Spring debut will focus on knitwear and prints of "beautiful, dangerous, and random phenomena." Think volcanoes and storms—intended, he says, for a woman who has "a kind of dark, elegant, and slightly dangerous style." Front-row watch: Jacobs may attend."
-the movie screening to look out for (other than any "The September Issue" ones) is the September 8th screening of Loic Prigent's The Day Before (it's just a sneak peek though). It Sonia Rykiel, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lagerfeld at Fendi, and Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler for the 48 hours leading up to their shows.
