The Body Shop: Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash Review

You may have seen in my Body Shop Haul post that I recently purchased the Seaweed Deep Cleansing Face Wash.
And well, I've been using it for about a week now.. and I am totally in love.

Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash, £6.50 for 100ml

Previously, I had been using the Clinique three-step program, and had been in two minds about it for some time. I loved the Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel, but the Toner terrified my skin, haha, it reeks of alcohol and makes my eyes water - and smells exactly like nail-varnish remover! I used up one bottle but told myself I'd never buy it again, and I haven't. The face-wash I was in two minds about, I have combination skin, oily in the t-zone, occasionally dry on the cheeks, and have re-purchased once or twice, because I couldn't find anything else that was mild and suitable. However, whenever I used it, it soaked ALL the moisture out of my skin, and left it way too dry and tight, i definitely wasn't a fan. There was something about the smell that I wasn't a huge fan of, either.

So I began to look for a new one, not long before my Clinique ran out, I was looking for some stuff on The Body Shop's website to make my order up to £15, so I could get free delivery (haha, bad idea, definitely!) and found this lovely.
Like I said, I immediately rushed to use it, and was immediately impressed! It leaves my skin amazingly smooth and refreshed, just dry enough to take away the excess oil, but moisturising enough to get the dry patches on my cheeks. I'm finding it's really balancing out my skintone, too. I found that after using Clinique's face-wash, I would have blotchy, reddish patches on my cheeks, that were very dry, like I'd been exfoliating too hard, or something.. but this doesn't do that.
As for the scent, it's pretty damn great too, smells seaweed-y (duh!) and beachy, it must have a hint of menthol in or something, too, because it makes my skin this lovely tingly feeling, and really wakes you up in the morning! It lathers really well, and gives me the right amount of tightness in my pores, without making me feel like I can't move my face.
Generally I can't say enough good things about this product! I wish it was a little bit cheaper, maybe just £5, as opposed to £6.50

Overall, I can't get enough of this product! I adore it and definitely recommend it!

Body Shop Haul and FOTD 21/04/2010

The other night I was feeling a bit down in the dumps, when I got an email from The Body Shop with a 25% off discount code! As you can imagine, this cheered me up immensely! I ordered this later on Sunday night, and I received it at lunchtime today (Wednesday) so I'm pretty pleased with that! I am the most impatient person and hate waiting and waiting for orders, haha.
That said, onto the goodies. (:
I definitely suggest you check out
The Body Shop's website, and get on their mailing list, because they have some great online deals. Currently they have a 2 for £8 deal on their shower-gels and a buy 1, get 1 50% off del on their Nutriganics skin-care range, so go have a look!
I got two of their shower-gels, and then there were two other things that caught my beady eye, so I splurged. Andddd I got free delivery cause I spent over £15! Score. Cheapo student, sorry to say! Haha.
L-R: Mango Shower Gel, Satsuma Shower Gel, Banana Conditioner, Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash.
The Satsuma Shower Gel smells
ah-maze-ing! That kind of spicy-sweet and super damn refreshing and I can't wait to use this to wake me up in the morning! I kind of just want to sit and huff it, so I might have to invest in the Satsuma body-butter or something! I also got a Mango one, but I want to do a review on all these products in the future so I'll shut up about it right now. (:

And a quick FOTD from before I went to work! I look
deathly pale in these, apologies! I really liked my hair today, actually. I threw it up in a bun when it was still damp and normally that creates a disaster but it looked quite curly and nice, for a change.
Also, looking at these pictures, my eyeshadow is really washed out. In person, it was much prettier. Boohoo. ):

1950’s THEATRICAL CHIC

Theatre design student Annabelle is in love with classic Edwardian and 1950’s era clothes. Although her favourite designer is the Australian designer Willow, who is a lot more contemporary. Annabelle says, ” I like her (Willow) interpretation of the natural world and its all very elegant”. Annabelle is wearing a 1950’s skirt, which was originally made for a theatre production and Annabelle modified from a dress. It was given to Annabelle by a friend of her mother. The elegant jacket is circa 1910, the heels are from ASOS. That’s what I call getting good wear out of clothes.

P-P-POLKA FROCK(LOVE IT)

PARIS....A MAGIC PLACE TO BE.....

I recommend visiting France in the fall and spring, if possible. September and October are ideal. The weather is lovely, and the Parisians are fresh from their month long summer vacation, feeling renewed. The whole city feels invigorated at this time of year. The spring is equally as beautiful.

When traveling in the summer, keep in mind that you will be one of many, many tourists. School trips, university students, families on summer break, are all sharing the same space. This is not necessarily a bad thing nor a deterrent, but something to keep in mind. If I were to go in the summer, I would probably pick June or July. June’s weather is lovely, and in July you have Bastille Day (July 14) and the Tour de France all month long. August is wonderful if you don’t like crowds, as most Parisians are on vacation during this month. This means that some, but not all, businesses and shops are closed. You will probably get a better hotel rate in August as well.

The weather in the summer months can vary from downright chilly to very hot. If visiting in the summer, it might be worthwhile to find a hotel with air conditioning in case of a heat wave.

The winter months are enjoyable in that they are virtually tourist-free. The downside is that the gardens aren’t in bloom, there is no more dining “en plein air” and it can be rather rainy.

The thing is that you have so many things to do, that in order to see Paris you must LIVE Paris... The must see in Paris are numerous for example you have to see the sacre coeur church, the Notre dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the tour eiffel, the Arc de Triomph, the Disneyland and many more....

One thing is for sure....In Paris you will never get bored....so...Book a flight.....!!!!!!!!!!

POLKA DOTS

Polka dots are so amazing....Every one of us should have an item with polka dots...It's not just the fact that they are so adorable...Dots are VINTAGE...!!!

Sabina Trojanova

I did a test shoot with Sabina Trojanova (Just WM) a few weeks ago in my apartment in Paris.
We did some beauty pictures and my friend Florence Depestele did the make-up.
It was a great day and I hope to work with them soon again!
