Which green do you find most gorgeous?

xoxox,

CC

P.S. CC is on vacation in Canada with GP for the next few days, so comments on your lovely blogs may be a tad sparse... But I promise I'll catch up with you upon my return!

First Experiences With Illamasqua's Nail Polishes.. & Something Shiny.

I was in London recently and my mum promised me a treat, so naturally I stopped by the Illamasqua counter, and picked up these two;

Force and Elope, both are £13

They look a little light in the bottles here, but I have individual swatches.
This is Elope;

I saw this and was drawn to it like a fly (psst, see my previous post
about greens.. haha) and the girl swatched it for me and it looked awesome, so I said yes. Unfortunately, on me, it came off sort of weird. With like a rubbery finish? You can sort of see it in the picture. I hope that it was just something I did when I applied it, so I applied it about a week later and I didn't have any of the same problems, which pleases me because it's a reallyyy beautiful colour. I used a top-coat and everything but just dunno! I also worried it was very similar to a cheapo Collection 2000 colour, so I swatched them both side by side on my thumb so you can see;

On the left is Ninja by Collection 2000 (£1.79) and on the right is Elope by Illamasqua.

They look identical in the bottles, but to a green-freak like me, they're different enough to warrant having both, because it's a deeper green. Ninja suddenly looks far too pastel-y when next to it.
The next one is Force, from Illamasqua's latest Body Electrics collection;

This is just immense. It's an absolutely gorgeous colour. A very true, pretty, light royal blue. I highly highly highly recommend this one, and I don't have anything like it in my collection, and it goes on in one coat, pretty much.
The formula's are absolutely great, especially for Force, I just wish I didn't have that one-time weird plasticy finish on Elope. Elope goes on excellently, even if it did take a fewww coats, but it's great. I love these, but I wish the price wasn't quite so steep, but you do pay for an excellent product and eternally classy packaging.

Price: 3/5
Packaging: 5/5
Colour: 5/5
Formula: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

Would I buy this product again?
Absolutely definitely. There's a range of colours I have my beady little eyes on.

Now onto the something shiny.. I definitely bought one of these babies a few weeks ago..

Before you start telling me about all the things that could potentially maybe go wrong with it.. just don't. Don't be so pathetic, I've had enough of that and it's just pisses me off.

Just thought I'd share because I can't resist something shinyy!

Forest, kelly, jade, mint, emerald, teal..

I am a green girl, not gonna lie. My car is green, I have a green phone.. generally, green is good in my book. Then I was trying to pick what colour to paint my nails the other day, and realised that nearly all my greens are from the high-street. As such, I thought I'd do a little post on some of my favourites, and ones that I think you should all buy!

Barry M Nail Paint in 290 Spring Green , £2.95
Another stunner from Barry M. I definitely love this colour. It's a nice, creamy, glossy green, on the pastel side, I suppose. In real life, I couldn't see any nail line, but apparently it showed in pictures. This was probably two or three coats, I'm not sure, but I love the consistency and finish of this one.

Barry M Nail Paint in 137 Lime Green , £2.95
This is a very wasabi-ish green, it's pretty awesome. However, it is crazy-sheer and stains pretty bad.. But, I will continue to wear it because it rocks. What you gonna do, hey? It took about 6 coats to get it like it is on my index nail, but although the coats go on very thin and quick, you can still see nail-line, really. I do love it, though.

Collection 2000 Hot Looks Fast Dry in 36 Ninja, £1.79 (I think? It's no more than £2!)
First off, I apologise for how sloppily I threw this on! I loveeeee this colour! It's a genuinely lovely, grass-green. Makes me feel very summery. I have to say, I have about 4 or 5 of these Hot Looks polishes and I adore them all! Well played, Collection 2000. I wish they were a tad larger though because I've gone through a bottle of another colour already, they're teeny, only 8ml. Goes on pretty smoothly, contrary to these pictures, and would probably by fine with one coat, but I used two.

Revlon Nail Enamel in Minted, £6.29
I love the colour of this polish, but I hate the formula and the price-tag! I bought this before the Barry M Ice-Cream Nail Paints were released because I was desperate for a pale, minty green. I was willing to pay the price for it, cause you do get almost 15ml, which is about the same as you get in a China Glaze/OPI. Unfortunately, every time I have used this, lots of tiny bubbles have appeared, on the surface! I hate it! I thought at first it might be that I shook it up by accident. No, I think I just have a bad bottle! Because I've seen other swatches of this and it looks fine.. Am I doing something wrong because I love the colour? I think I'll just buy the Barry M minty-green one, better formula!

There you go! A few different greens you might enjoy or want to check out. Hope you enjoyed this post! Some more nail swatches coming soon and some reviews.

I want..

..Doesn't get.
This is the motto my mum instilled in my from a young age, haha. But right now, theres a few things I would like. (: Please. Jewellery, jewellery jewellery.. I didn't used to care about it at all, but then I got my ears pierced about ten months ago, and I've been obsessed. Something I've realised I love a lot of is animal themed pieces.. I'm not really sure why! haha.

The Raven on this is perfect for the bird kick I'm on right now! I'm still searching for a hummingbird necklace..

To cheer me up, I feel.

This is just awesome!

And whilst I'm still on the hunt for the perfect pair of wedges..
If anyone can find it in their heart to buy me this pair of Miu Miu heels.. well, I'd be in your debt forever! At £400 a go, though, I think I'll be waiting a while... Sigh. They are truly gorgeous, though.

Everyone knows I can't be trusted with sunglasses, I drop them in lifts and throw them across carparks and tread on them when they're in my bag.. But I've wanted a pair of green or yellow aviators for ages, and these Carrera Endurance frames are right up my street.

I am somewhat of a perfume-whore. I think I have about ten-fifteen bottles on my shelf, and a whole glass jar filled with mini-bottles and testers that I want to buy. There have been two on my wishlist for a long long time, now, one of them being Flora by Gucci! It seems like the perfect spring fragrance, and I really want it! Unfortunately I can't justify the pricetag right now, even with my 25% discount.. I think I need to do Project 10 Perfume, haha!

The other one I've wanted for
so long now is DKNY's Be Delicious fragrance, the original green one. This was on offer for ageeeees, everywhere over Christmas, and I resisted like a very very very very good girl. Then I was buying some polish in Boots yesterday and saw it was on offer for £20! Oh my Goddd. I think I might have to give in. Even though I have one that smells almost the same.. The limited-edition Roy Lichtenstein bottle makes my heart melt.

A lime green Kitchen-Aid Mixer.
Shush.

What's on your wishlist?

The problem with neons is..

Hello folks, I know I've been awfully absent recently, but I honestly didn't think it had been this long?! I thought I'd just take a little break from the whole beauty-community and then suddenly it's April! I don't think I'm very good at this updating lark, but I'm going to give it my best shot. And big love to Lydia on Twitter who made me want to start blogging again!
That out of the way with... My latest obsession is nails nails nails! I didn't realise this blog was so nail-centric, but mine have grown excellently these last few months and I love showing them off, haha.
I went into town with my mum this weekend (Bank Holiday weekend, what a mistake!) and picked up a couple of polishes. One of them being this
gorgeous China Glaze colour, Turned Up Turquoise. The bottle captures my heart instantly, because it's the same colour as a car my mum used to own. I got it in Sally's on Saturday and they currently have a buy one, get the second half price deal, so I'm all over that at the moment! I also got Dorothy Who? but I'll save that for another post! So I picked it up without looking at the label and bought it, because I was in a bit of a hurry, and it wasn't until my mum was swatching it in the car home that I realised it was a neon!
Now I have a bit of a love hate with this formula. I'm trying to keep up with this matte-trend, but at heart, I love glittery, glitzy, glossy nails! So my natural reaction is to put a top-coat on them, because then they really shine, and you can see all the fantastic micro-shimmers in them. I get home and realise I've run out of top-coat. Sigh, story of my life! Haha. Anyway, I picked up a cheap bottle of Rimmel top-coat over the bank-holiday weekend (which I'm pleasantly surprised with actually!) and here it is.

Generally I adore the colour of neons, because I love anything that's super bright, and these fit the bill. This is Turned-Up Turquoise, and I think they retail for about £5.49 or something like that, but you can get them online for much cheaper, so shop around! Like I said, my mum used to own a car this exact same colour, it's the perfect turquoise green-blue, haha. I wore it on my fingers and toes on a night out with a beige top, black leggings and peep-toed heels, and really liked the way I looked altogether.

This is the other one that I can find, because I misplaced my bottle of Purple Panic when I was taking pictures.. but hey, we'll make this a green post! This is In The Lime Light, a perfectly awesome, highlighter green, that seems to glow in the sunshine. Both In The Lime Light and Purple Panic seem to have a blue micro-shimmer that the top-coat really brings out. As you can see here, you can still see my nail-line, so you're gonna need to layer up some coats, but it dries fairly quickly.
The internet tells me that these are also, all from The Wow Factor collection, and were re-released with the Ink collection more recently. However, they've had these colours for a while in my local Sally's, so have a gander. (: I'll try and post Purple Panic some time in the future!
Both of these make me feel
so excited for summer, and today the temperature in double digits and so lovely and warm that me and my friends got a takeaway for dinner and ate outside! haha. Definitely looking forward to spring, spring, spring, and much much much more importantly, summer! (:
